Half mounted violin bow by Osmar Benedito, made in Portugal. A nicely balanced stick with medium bounce, and light natural wood appearance. Due to the current CITES restrictions placed on the use and sale of Brazilian Pernambuco wood, L'Archet Brasil spent time investigating and experimenting with bow making in more sustainable timbers, and are now using a type of Mexican Pernambuco for some models. These woods are not endangered and do not come under the CITES restrictions yet retain the characteristics of a traditional Brazilian Pernambuco stick. Featuring the L'archet Digital Passport -.............. What does that mean, and whats the advantage?........... The particular bow features a NFC microchip, under the grip, (imperceptible by feel, and unaffected by replacement of the grip) which, when any smart phone, or reader, with the NFC facility is placed on the top of the grip, a full digital report is revealed. The report includes images of the bow, makers details, and a comprehensive list of all parts used, and their origin. This is a highly innovative use of technology, that makes worldwide travel with your bow very much easier and eliminating the need to carry separate paperwork or certificates, the information is there for international customs to access easily.
