Eudoxa and Eudoxa-Stiff (Rigid)
Since their introduction in the early 1950's Eudoxa has been the world wide benchmark for quality covered gut strings. On good instruments these strings produce a warm, well balanced sound with plenty of tonal variation. Although a low tension string they can produce sufficient volume of sound for orchestral work. However with the advent of powerful synthetic strings they now work best in small chamber ensemble and quartets. As a gut cored string they require regular tuning and are not suited to the use of fine tuners due the degree of 'stretch' involved.
