Description
Students & teachers will be familiar with the popular steel core set from this company. Astrea has now expanded its range to bring you this new synthetic core set, providing the player with a more detailed & wide ranging tone. Tonally these will be warmer than the steel core set and more comfortable under the fingers during use. These are aimed at advancing students and keen amateurs and will provide a good cost effective alternative to the more premium Thomastik or Pirastro alternatives.
The strings are a standard medium tension.
You can also order each string separately. The 'E' string included here is the same as the steel core set.
All strings are suitable for 4/4 & 3/4 and feature brass ball ends.

Passable beginner strings except for poor G

Pros: The A and D strings has a slightly more substantial feel to them than some beginner strings
Cons: The G string was unplayable, only producing squeaks
Other: We are sorry to hear the G string was squeaky, it sounds as though its faulty. Please do contact us and we will arrange a replacement.

Excellent value strings
Pros: These strings sound great to me. They produce a warm, interesting sound, and they feel nice under the fingers, with just the right amount of resistance to pressure. I've bought several sets of these and have never yet had a duff string among them. Excellent value for money. Thank you Astrea and thank you String Zone!
