Versatile shoulder rest with flexible metal base which can been bent to the required shape. Available in five sizes. This rest can be customised to a very high level and is ideal for players who feel their instrument can slip down, especially in the higher playing positions. The hook can be moved to provide a good anchorage at the preferred playing position. Adjustable height and tilt combined with a bendable plate allow an almost infinite range and will enable the vast majority of players to achieve a comfortable playing experience.

Pros: I tried my desk partner's Bonmusica rest one rehearsal and never went back. It gives such a solid and stable holding position; I get less fatigued and maintain a better posture for longer. The Rolls Royce of shoulder rests! (For comparison, I was previously using a Kun).
Cons: Too big to fit in my case- solved this by taking a Stanley Knife to the interior.
Other: Do go by width measurements, not length of back, to ensure proper fit.

Pros: Adjustable, comfortable, secure. Does not fall off!
Cons: When taking instrument down from playing position, you have to remember to allow space for the part that goes over the shoulder. Too big to fit into the body of my small shaped viola case, so I have to put in one of the pockets on the top of the case.

Pros: The multiple adjustments available to ensure just the perfect fit for the player so the instrument can be held securely between the shoulder and neck without further support from the hand. This gives complete comfort which allows the player to give full attention to the music.
Cons: Nothing
Other: After 4 years of trying various types of shoulder rest without any satisfaction at all, the Bonmusica fulfilled all my hopes and expectations, greatly enhancing my enjoyment of the viola. I also found the staff at String Zone very helpful and encouraging as I was a little diffident about purchasing the rest in view of my earlier experiences.

Pros: A life changer for Violists who suffer from shoulder/neck problems because it hooks slightly over your shoulder and takes a lot of the strain. Also very adjustable.
Cons: None
Other: This is my second Bon Musica shoulder rest. After very many years the old one finally began to creak and the padding to wear. Didn’t hesitate to buy another.

Pros: Comfortable and secure. Best shoulder rest I have ever had.
Cons: Does not fit in instrument case. Removing worn out pads is a nightmare. Replacement pads did not fit by miles and were badly cut. Bonmusica wesite unhelpful. Had to replace the whole thing in the end which makes it a very expensive shoulder rest no matter how good it is.
Other: Stringzone were extremely helpful. Bonmusica were not.

Pros: bonmusica viola shoulder rest (I assume it's the same for violin) The rest is well constructed, and the design is the only one I know of with an adequate curve on the metal support which actually provides an adequate depth of curve which goes well over the player's shoulder and will not slip.. A bit pricey though!
Cons: None

Pros: Very easy to make it fit your own shape and makes the viola very secure.
Cons: No room for error when measuring for the right size, you cannot adjust the width.
Other: Go by the width, not the length of the instrument.

Pros: The flexibility to enable a snug fit to one's shoulder, which prevents the viola from slipping.
Cons: The size of the shoulder rest means that I cannot get it in my case. So it goes in the top zip able cover. This means that one has to be careful about not putting anything heavy on top of the viola case.

Pros: This rest is very comfortable and secure and I will get one for my violin within the next couple of months as this type of rest is much deeper than my existing one and I don't get neck ache with it.
Cons: It does not fit in my case but that is not a problem as most cases don't seem to be able to house a shoulder rest.
Other: An excellent product and I will not hesitate to recommend it to all my fellow musicians!
