Carbon Fibre. Black carbon fibre stick with fully mounted ebony frog.
Well made bow with excellent balance and feel. Playing qualities of a much higher value wooden bow.
Unless stated otherwise all our bows are supplied with a starter coat of premium quality William Salchow rosin. Good, fresh rosin is essential to obtain the best performance from any bow.

Pros: The sound this bow produces is very "pure" and plays the highest registers on the cello with the same quality of sound as it does the low registers. The decoration on the frog is actually a mother of pearl finish which was a lovely surprise as the picture on here doesn't show that off.
Cons: It may well be my cello (a beginner level cello) or the strings (Jargar) but I still get a scratchy sound every now and then on the open A string. Other than that, I can't fault this bow.
Other: I've not had this bow very long, and I only have low quality brazilwood bows to compare it with (they came with my cello) but I can already tell this bow performs well: I've been practicing Haydn's Cello concerto in C major for a while now and this bow plays the full range of notes whilst retaining a great sound quality; playing at the end of the fingerboard sounds the same as playing in first position with no extra effort required by the player.

Pros: Excellent bow for the money. Produces a much more focused tone than my wooden bow which was £500 (let's face it £500 is a drop in the ocean in the world of bows). Also has a bit more weight to it than other carbon fibre bows which I have tried.
Cons: Not the most attractive bow out there - the eye and inlay are a bit milky but I don't care given sound quality and low price.

Pros: I wanted a reasonably priced second bow, to use with a modern chinese cello. This one suited my requirements exactly- good quality, nice weight and balance. It feels similar to my Knoll wood bow which was twice the price. It arrived promptly and very well packaged.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Recommended by my son's teacher - probably because she uses one on a day-to-day basis and he tried hers. My son took to it immediately and seems to enjoy the flexibility it gives him on his tone and control. He is enthused about his instrument again and happy to study for his Grade 6 after a period when he was ambivalent about playing his cello. The worry with a bow is that each is personal - it looks like this is one where high quality and playability is standard.
Cons: Absolutely nothing !!
Other: Stringzone service excellent, bow arrived securely packaged by Royal Mail withn 2 working days.
