Pros: Clips firmly to body of instrument (wide viola) and so avoids irritating and embarrassing drop-off. Good value.
Cons: Under pressure (shouldn't happen but can't help it at times) clcks off noisily. I'm a big chap so moulded shape not quite right for my body shape and as I have a long neck lack of height adjustment a slight problem, though it does encourage my not to press so hard. Have had a few shoulder and neck niggles which may be related to posture and I'm not sure this rest helps.
Other: Good value option but fo me not quite right and still on the lookout for a more comfortable model.

Pros: It is easily the most comfortable of all the shoulder rests I have ever had. Also, it fits in my case better than most others.
Cons: Like all other shoulder rests, it comes off quite noisily whilst playing; but it's my fault for pressing down too hard. I may have solved the problem by adjusting the width so it sits very tightly on the viola. Having made a chalk mark on the instrument, I can check periodically to see if the shoulder rest has moved, which helps.

Pros: Very well designed solid rest. The violin grips will not wearout and damage the violin. It is robust and does not fall to bits all the time especially when tossed about by young players.
Cons: Nothing worth the reasonable price charges for it

Pros: My son is working on gr 7 - he has tried many different shoulder rests but - both for the violin and the viola - he finds the Everest design the most comfortable

Other: I guess shoulder rests are personal and you have to find the one you get on with - for my son its the Everest

Pros: Provides a very stable platform when extended to full height. Well padded. The contour fits my shoulder perfectly. Easy to adjust.
Cons: Nothing.
Other: I plan to buy one of the extra long feet so I can raise the shoulder side of the rest a bit higher to achieve my optimum playing angle.

Well made and a sensible choice.
Pros: Stylish, robust, well made and comfortable.
Cons: Like many other shoulder rests, the integrated feet look good but have an inherent drawback. For security, it is essential that the padded feet make contact with both the ribs and the lip of the instrument, without any daylight at the points of contact.If possible, it would be wise to check the exact fit in the shop before purchasing.
