Pros: Great way to make an electric violin play as a viola. I find the helicores the best option on my plugged in fiddles, a good basic sound for the electronics to work on.
Cons: No real negatives but I prefer a richer sound from a synthetic core on acoustic instruments.

Pros: Quite a clear, bright sound
Cons: I would not use this string on an already bright instrument
Other: Using this string on a very sweet sounding small Pellegrina viola...the bright sound suits this instrument very well
Beginner
Delighted I changed to Helicore
Pros: Good time and response to dynamics. This applies to all the Helicore strings I bought to replace the original NS Strings, The change was phenomenal but I stress that I have an NS violin with strings A,D,G and C to replace the 16,5 inch viola that age and infirmity forced me to put aside. As I have no-one to accompany me I have a series of pre-amplifiers and pedal devices through two speakers. This enables classical music as well as other genres. I am truly grateful that I spent the extra money on these strings.
Cons: None
