Pros: I didn't necessarily have an overt need for this, but I thought I would give it a try on my cello. So I must say this wax is really nice. It really makes the flaming of the wood pop and does add a nice vibrancy to the varnish colour. My cello is just over 200 years old, and there are sections missing varnish, and it seems to have added a nice coating to those areas too.
Cons: Dries quite quickly in corners and joins of the instrument leaving a white line which is hard to remove. If it accumulates in the edges, just run it in until there's no white, then buffer.
