Pros: Produce a powerful, rich, warm sound. A strong core to the sound and they maintain good clarity without being overly bright.
Cons: In this tension they require a reasonable amount of bowing weight to draw out the sound so they are more likely to suit a professional player.
Other: The medium tension version of this string is a fabulous all rounder. This 'Forte' version has a bit more power and body to the sound, but will require a little more bowing effort.

Pros: Instant play-in. A big sound, and a thicker string than the standard Larsen. Lots of bite and projection, and very little noise. A very stable string.

Pros: reasonabily nice sound
Cons: snapped today after 30 days of it being fitted was only fine tuning a few cents, never had this issue with any jargar standard string model before. Would not buy superior again they are way too fragile and could be a risk playing live of it snapping.

Strong tone but takes some getting used to.
Pros: Strong tone with little bowing effort, as well as offering subtlety. Works well all the way up the fingerboard. (Fitted to Luis and Clark carbon fibre cello.)
Cons: Compared with the previously fitted brand, this string takes a lot of playing in, but it seems to be worth the effort so far.
Other: Obviously, string choice depends on the individual instrument and player.
