Kaplan Vivo delivers brilliance, clarity & a distinction of tone for darker instruments. These strings will enhance the sound of a violin with less projection whilst offering a wide ranging, colourful sound palette.
Short break-in time and excellent bow response provides superb playability. Synthetic core produces a rich, powerful tone.

Pros: None
Cons: Seemed too soft - floppy in response. I couldn't play fast slurred semiquavers on the a or d strings without the sound choking and the notes not speaking. None of the strings responded well to really full blooded playing. Also the packets were difficult to open! Not really that important but it would be embarrassing to sit on stage and need scissors in order to change a string quickly during a performance!
Other: I went back to my usual Vision Orchestra and Solo mix.

Worth trying
Pros: Has made a huge difference to a rather muffled French violin. The sound is much more focused. The tension is on the soft side so not very different to play on than obligato. Will definitely use these again.
Cons: The G and D take a few days to play in. This is not a criticism-more an observation.
