Description

Knilling Perfection geared pegs allow the musician to tune easily and accurately by use of the pegs alone. thereby eliminating the need for fine tuners on the tailpiece.

Choice of man made or wooden peg heads. The basic artificial head is matt black in colour. The pegs have a 4.1 gear ratio, meaning for every 4.1 turns of the peg head the shaft turns once. This results in easy, accurate and stable tuning. The pegs are fixed in place with no moving part in contact with the instrument. This means no wear on the pegbox and the pegs cannot come loose or slip.

The diameter of the peg shaft relates to the diameter of the outside (larger) hole in the pegbox. The diameter of the peg selected must be a minimum of 0.5mm greater than that of the corresponding hole to allow for fitting. Accurate fitting to a precisely sized hole is essential for the correct functioning of these pegs.

Please note that a special tapered reamer is needed to fit these pegs. We stock this item. Click here for details of this product.

Not a DIY product - special tools required for correct fitting. Fitting by a suitably qualified workman strongly recommended.

Pros: Work well for steel strings . Good for students They eliminate the need for fine tuners allowing for use of a fine wooden tailpiece

No slipping pegs, no fuss, no swearing
3 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: I wouldn't be without them! I like to have as little tackle (and hence, weight) on the tailpiece as possible. These make tuning dead easy. I have just left a tiny fine tuner on my E to complement these pegs. No fuss.

Cons: None

Pros: I found the «Knilling 'Perfection' Planetary Pegs» especially convenient to use, and able to sustain an accurate tuning.

Cons: Not strictly a negative but something that needs attention, the installation of «Perfection» Planetary Pegs requires an advanced technical level to avoid any possible damage.
