Laminated hardwood base with 6mm foam rubber padding. Brass metal parts. Standard or collapsible. The Kun Bravo is unique among wooden shoulder rests. The Bravo's bent hardwood laminates alternating in grain structure provide maximum strength with some flexibility. As a result, this rest maintains Kun's instantly- recognizable ergonomic shape, easy attachment to the instrument, and stability in use. Handcrafted in Italy from European flamed maple, the Bravo has exceptional aesthetic appeal, while its polished brass ends are fully- adjustable and incorporate Kun's patented locking device. Standard model with fixed foot brackets, collapsible model with folding foot brackets for easier storage in the instrument case.

Pros: Fit so easily & is very comfortable on the shoulder. It is the best shoulder rest I have ever had apart from the same bravo collapsible shoulder rest I purchased last year , as I have two violins & one rest for each!!
Cons: None what so ever!! ... well perhaps I would have preferred another collapsible rest.
Other: Very fast & efficient delivery

Pros: I have used the more basic Kun shoulder rest for many years. Whilst it was extremely comfortable, because it flexed, it had a tendency to fall off on a regular basis. This more expensive Bravo Kun, was recommended to me by a luthier, as the wood makes it more rigid and is therefore less prone to flexing and so the feet don't work their way loose. It's been brilliant - comfort and security, and it doesn't seem to hamper the violin's tone/vibrations.
Cons: None so far.

Pros: Doesn’t have the plastic digging into your chest like the standard Kun model. Comfortable Doesn’t drop off the violin
Cons: Pricey
Other: I have tried many, many shoulder rests and this one enables me to hold my instrument in the correct position and stays on the instrument. It is quite expensive, but tax-deducttabke for a professional! Personally I find it slippery unless it’s on bare skin.

Pros: Love the comfort of this rest, and more important, it doesn't fall off my instrument. It also looks very good, in keeping with my violin. I also have the Viva la Musica Diamond Violin Shoulder Rest, which I purchased from The String Zone, I use that on my second violin, but prefer the Bravo rest.
Cons: The feet do not collapse, making it difficult to fit in a violin case. Fortunately I have two cases, one will accommodate the rest the other won't so swapped over violins to the case that works.
Other: I also have the Viva la Musica Diamond Violin Shoulder Rest, which I purchased from The String Zone, I use that on my second violin, but prefer the Bravo rest.

Pros: This is the best shoulder rest I have ever used. I normally used the standard Kun but found that after using it for a while it seemed to move somewhat when playing, even on the smallest setting. This one is more expensive but very solid , a great find and very well worth the extra money.
Cons: price!

Recommended, especially for neck/ shoulder issues
Pros: Very solid on my instrument and didn't seem to muffle the sound at all, very comfortable, wide pad and high setting means I don't feel so strained with my neck
Cons: Nothing
Other: This was one of three shoulder rests I tried, and all three were good. Just so happens this one fitted slightly better than the others due to the level of adjustment and size of pad

What a difference a good shoulder-rest makes
Pros: After several minutes of playing I knew that this was right for me. It looks good, is well made, the adjustable legs are perfect for me, the contoured base fits my shoulder/chest perfectly and twists down to sit comfortably and totally on the chest so there is no more slipping round. I struggled for months with a rest (not from SZ) which had hardly any adjustments and when I realized that all my violin-holding problems came from the inadequate violin-rest I looked and found the perfect solution in this.
Cons: It is a little pricey but perfection costs and the time I save now is worth the financial cost.
Other: Ordered 15:30 friday; delivered 10:00 saturday. That is very good considering where I live. I use the ‘ten to four’ alignment (viewed from the back). My neck and head are very nearly straight up now. Before I ordered this I wondered if the contoured base would be a ‘one size fits all’ compromise but it fits perfectly. I can forget the weeks I wasted struggling with the previous rest and now concentrate on playing and bowing. I clip the Kun rest on the violin, forget it and practice. Highly recommended.
