Description
The Il Cannone 'Direct and Focused' set are the newest development in string technology from renowned string makers Larsen. The new strings are availiable in both medium and soloist versions, the soloist being a slightly higher tension for increased projection. Tested the world over on a range of instruments the strings have been described as having empowered the instruments offering more colour possibilities, more clarity, more edge and greater gain.
The Soloist 'Direct & Focused' Violin String Set consists of Soloist 'Direct & Focused' D, G, and C together with original Soloist E.

Brought to life!
Pros: Once quickly settled in, these strings brought a lacklustre violin to life. Powerful, good projection, with clarity and sensitivity. Even across the whole range. This fiddle likes Larsen strings - it's enjoyed Il Cannone, medium and solo, but these are in a different league. I have no idea how they would suit other violins!
Cons: Don't be put off by the first few days - very over-resonant, not just metallic!

Pros: Absolutely amazing! I have tried all kinds of high end strings on my modern Italian violin on the market ( Dynamo, Eva green, Eva gold, PI, Evoke, Dominant, Perpetual, Dominant Pro, vision solo titanium ) This set of strings is the most powerful and colourful set of strings I have ever used. It is balanced across the four strings. The tone quality is clean and warm but brilliant and focused as the same time even when you play beyond 7th position on the lower strings. The finger and bow response is unbelievablely quick. I feel like I have upgraded my violin as it has unlocked my instrument's full potential without imposing a specific sound like Obligato. I have also become a better player / artist as I have discovered new possibilities with my violin and virtuosic repertoire has become easier due to its fast response. I don't normally stick with the same of strings as I like trying new products and discovering new sounds and texture. However, I am pretty sure I have found my 'forever' strings or true partner for this violin which I though is impossible.
Cons: Nothing at all, but I wish I can afford to buy the il Cannone gold and try it. That said, I am extremely happy with il.cannone D&F soloist and I cannot find one bad thing to say about this set of strings.
