Description

E strings feature removable ball for loop option.

The novelty of these strings is their unique combination of moderate string tension and great volume. The result is an exceptional subtlety and clarity in the sound. Together with fast string response and easy playability these strings are capable of offering a finely nuanced sound.

Using a loop end E? The use of a protector to prevent the tuner hook breaking the string is essential with loop end E strings. We cannot accept claims for strings broken by the adjuster hook. Click here to purchase this item.

Excellent strings at a reasonable price
15 out of 18 found the following review helpful

Pros: These were recommended by a knowledgeable friend. They're on my Peter Goodfellow violin (2003) and suit it down to the ground, with a wonderful combination of strength, fullness and warmth - the violin, which is excellent, sounds as well as it has ever done. I've used them for only about 4 weeks now so have nothing to say about durability, but as far as quality of sound is concerned, I am very impressed.

Cons: Nothing

Fine full and fast fiddle strings
10 out of 10 found the following review helpful

Pros: Good rich well balanced sound quickly stable and without the initial harshness some synthetic strings exhibit. Double stops work well. Fast enough in response for jigs and reels, full enough for airs.

Cons: No cons so far

Best strings yet
8 out of 8 found the following review helpful

Pros: I have tried various makes of strings over the years and these are the best by far. I presently play on an old violin and these seem to suit the instrument, I also have a violin by a modern maker and they are fantastic on that instrument as well.

Cons: nothing

Other: The price is reasonable compared to other quality strings

Larsen virtuoso.the best strings ???
7 out of 7 found the following review helpful

Pros: Brilliant strings. I have played fiddle for 21 years and tried lots of string types eg spirocore dominant correlli etc. These larsen strings give unparrallelled sound playability and durability compared to any other string i have played. Excelllent first class product.

Cons: No cons.

Other: Also beautifully packaged.

Loud, nice feeling and nice sounding
6 out of 6 found the following review helpful

Pros: Low tension and gliding feel. Volume Brought a lot more to the table than Larsen tzigane ( previous strings)

Cons: Slightly pricey but yet to see how they last so could be worth the extra?

Other: Much more bright and metallic sounding than the Tzigane range but to be expected. However the metallic sound is good and clear

Lovely tone and good dynamic range
4 out of 5 found the following review helpful

Pros: Found the tone less harsh than another similarly-priced brand I had previously used. Good dynamic range and doesn't lose quality of tone when playing softer unlike previous strings I had used. The lower strings are particularly resonant.

Cons: Haven't made my mind up about the E string yet, but it certainly has improved with playing in.

Amazing.
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: I really like these strings. I bought them because I played a *very* expensive violin a few years ago and the shop owner said that the violin had Larsen strings. I enjoyed playing that violin, and enjoyed the strings so when it came time for a new 'full set' on my violin I bought these. I was not disappointed. The Virtuoso's settled in very quickly and produce a lovely mellow tone on my violin. The E and A strings are nice and crisp for short sharp playing, though not quite as Bright as the Eva Pirazzi Gold E I have on another violin. Amazing strings overall.

Cons: Absolutely None.

Other: The packaging is incredible, so beautifully packaged and wax sealed!
