The different rosin blends created by Leatherwood offer you a precise way to enhance the sound of your instrument. Here we have the 100% option.
By choosing the Supple or Crisp recipes (or a Bespoke mixed blend), you can optimise the brightness, clarity, warmth and richness of your sound, and vary the strength of initial attack on the string.
The crisp blend works well with an instrument with lots of resonance but is a little ‘woolly’ in sound, offering it greater clarity and articulation. Crisp also assists bows or techniques that struggle to achieve a clear and articulate spiccato or sautille. Crisp can also assist small student or cheap instruments, by enhancing their sound to be brighter and sometimes louder; and beginning students find it easier to articulate with crisp.
The supple blend generates a more powerful and focused sound from a softer and lighter bow with less ‘bite’. Supple also enhances the sounds of a deep / warm sounding instrument by making it sound more resonant. Supple can also ‘soften’ an instrument which is too loud, bright or one-dimensional in sound.
A blend of natural resins mounted in a wood base. The long format is designed for applying sparingly in a full length stroke. Leatherwood state that the rosin will generally last 2-5 years with intensive use. Each piece is wrapped in artisan cured deer leather.

Cons: None.
Other: It's beautiful to look at, and hand made. That would not have mattered if it had not worked well. But it is a pleasure, and I gather it'll last 10 years with occasional use.

Pros: It is the first time that I payed more attention to the rosin quality. That rosin truly transformed my opinion what should I look for in my future purchases . The rosin feels extremely smooth on the bow hair, yet produces strong and sonorous sound. It does everything that I never heard my bow could do ( it feels that I bought a new bow but a rosin). Anyhow, I highly recommend that one should invest in similar quality rosin than the standard one. It makes such a huge difference in the sound and the agility of the bow!

Even beginners should have the best.
Pros: Partnered with my Dorfler bow, it made the sound I produced much more deeper richer sound. It was well presented and had the feel of a product that was made by a craftsman.
Cons: If I have to put something here I guess it would be price, its 5X more than the rosin I was advised to buy.
Other: As a beginner, I'm not skilled enough to discuss the nuances of such a quality rosin, but I strongly believe as a music student that you should buy the best you can afford so whatever skill you are or sound you make it's the nest it can be for that part of the journey.
