Improves confidence playing high

Pros: I always dreaded going up the finger board on the e string, even at grade 8 but since being the Gold Label e my confidence has improved greatly and I find myself being much more comfertable playing higher notes. Before getting the Gold Label e, higher notes always sounded squeaky and the clarity decreased as the frequency increased but the new string changed this. It produces a very clear and sweet sound.
Cons: I found that the string crossings on to the e string squeak a little. But to be honest that's probably just down to my technique but I didn't have that problem before.
Other: Blends in well with an Evah Pirazzi set -it has the same power.

Pros: Excellent sound, blends well with other strings.
Cons: Slightly harsh on the open string.
Other: I put this on with a set of Obligatos and I've been very pleased with it. The sound is consistently bright and clear without being shrill and it blends well with the other strings. My only criticism is that when playing the open string (which is very common in fiddle music) it sounds a little too harsh; most E strings are like that to some extent, but it felt particularly prominent on this one compared to others. The string lasted about a month of playing a couple of hours every day before starting to go dead, which I think is reasonable. I'll be replacing it with something else, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this string.

Pros: I have tried the following "famous" Es: Gold Label, Amber, Tzigane, Goldbrokat and Peter Infeld Platinum. They are all good and there can be no actual reasoning about rating them. It comes down to just pure taste. I prefer the tone of the Gold Label to the sweeter Amber or Tzigane, or the brilliance of Peter Infeld Pt. The Gold E gives me the nice ring of good drinking glasses and doesn't mess with the rest of the strings (I am looking at you, PI-Pt)
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Fitted in very nicely with the Dominant strings on G D A,have never liked the Dominant E string as very harsh and unforgiving but this Pirastro gave a nice smooth,sweet rounded edge to the tone

Pros: lovely clear tone, plenty of power, a huge improvement over a dominant wound E, would definitely recommend as an alternative / upgrade when using dominants for G/D/A
