MEDIUM TENSION, SYNTHETIC CORE.
All round, professional grade synthetic core string. Warm, round sound which closely approximates that of a covered gut string.
Recommended for violas with a playing scale of 35-38cm which covers most violas of back length 15-16.5 inches

Pros: They suit my viola - I find that they settle quickly after I've put them on and they stay in tune well. Good quality across the set so don't feel I have to get different makes for different strings.
Cons: I was confused about what tension to get. Tried strong but felt they gave my viola a slight 'metallic' sound at first. It settled into the tone I wanted after a few weeks but have gone back to medium tension as I feel they give me what I need straight away.

Pros: LOTS of projection, and a very good tone and pitch stability once they settle in. The difference changing to these from bog standard Dominant mediums made to my (mid-priced rather than excellent) viola is startling!
Cons: They did take about 10 days / 10 hours' playing to really settle, and during that time they continue to go flatter and the tone can be really quite rough (the C takes longest to bed in). For this reason, I'd only recommend putting them on with at least a week to go before a performance / recording.

Pros: I acquired an inexpensive viola with steel core strings and replaced them with Obligato, as used on my violin (principal instrument). The transformation was amazing, as expected. Obligato strings play like gut, have a quick response, and have an even and beautiful tone. As an amateur violinist, I have not played a viola seriously, but can now anticipate rapid progress with the viola as a result of switching to Obligato strings.
Cons: They are rather expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Pros: An immediate response, a true and full sound which carried well in the church where I was playing the Telemann viola concerto (that's why I bought a new set)
Cons: A little slow (4-5 days) to settle
