Obligato strings have a core made from a modern synthetic multifilament fibre. They sound warm and full, yet have a brilliant, rich overtone spectrum and focused tone. Pros: Competitively priced, this string arrived the day after I placed the order,just in time for a performance. The Obligato string sounds even better than I anticipated, and brings a rich, mellow tone to my playing - since buying the D string I have also replaced the A string with an Obligato.
Cons: Can't think of anything negative to add.

Pros: It was noticeable straight away, how much nicer this string was - such a warmer tone. I had a catgut string before, and it kept squawking and going out of tune (as they are known for doing).
Cons: None, as of yet.
