Forest honey colors. Mellow, rounded sound. Well suited for synthetic strings with low and medium tension. Each cake of rosin is glued onto a soft cloth which then is attached to a hard plastic grip. This prevents the fingers of the musician to get exposed to rosin dust and also makes it easier to apply the rosin.

Pros: It produces a good sound with most synthetic and metal cored strings - the right amount of 'stickiness' and a good shelf-life. It provides plenty of volume while still sounding reasonably smooth and not too gritty. I have used it successfully with Obligato, Dominant and Helicore strings. It is ideal for orchestral playing. I also prefer it for folk music, though some folk players might prefer something coarser. What really makes it stand out is actually the packaging - it comes wrapped in a generous piece of cloth that's nice and floppy and gets out of the way while you're using it. The cloth then doesn't get covered in rosin and your hands stay clean. The cloth is firmly attached to the base of the rosin cake via a rigid plastic disc that makes it easy to hold while in use. There's an adequate cardboard box that's much easier to open than those horrible Thomastik metal tins. There are plenty of rosins on the market that will give you a nice sound, but I haven't found another that can match this one for ease of use.
Cons: No cons at all.

Pros: Thought I would try this becuase I have OBLIGATO strings and thought the combination would be good. This is an effective, quality rosin providing good contact between bow and string. Not sure how much it actually makes a difference in terms of "working" with Obligato strings in any particularly way though.
Cons: I found it easy to "over rosin" this rosin - a little goes a long way. Far must dust than I expected too.

Pros: Great contact with string but not sticky. Creates good response and aids in improved sound quality. Easy to apply and works really well with Obligato strings as well as others.
Cons: The only thing was when the rosin was shipped it had been taken out of the protective box which could have caused damaged, but thankfully mine was in good condition.

Pros: Very pleasantly surprised about the strength and power of this rosin - I have not tried before.
Cons: nothing.
Other: Have already recommended to colleagues violin/viola teachers as well as prof. players.
