Pros: It transformed the sound on my cello.Before, with a Dominant D medium the sound on my particular cello was metallic and I had to be careful moving from the G to the D.Now it is a pleasure to play, a rich silky sound, yet with projection.Also I did not need to re-tune once the string was in place.An excellent product that suits my cello perfectly.

Pros: Passione A and D are my favourite upper strings. I've been using these for several years. They blend well with the orchestra. I found the Larsen strings too loud for my liking. These are softer and richer for my cello.

Excellent price. Beautiful warm resonant sound.
Pros: It made my cello sound instantly better. So smooth. Very warm sound easy to control. My favourite D string I have tried. Feels like a jarger in how soft and warm it is but more resonant. Also very good price for the A and D strings.

Other: Really great A and D string. I am very happy with how much better my "cheap" cello sounds with these strings.

Good alternative to gut
Pros: I bought this as an alternative to the Pirastro Eudoxa gut D. It is much more stable in pitch as I had hoped and blends very well with the gut G & C. After a bit of playing in the tone is quite similar to the Eudoxa as I had hoped and has none of the harshness of cheaper metal strings
Cons: Still not cheap!

Sound Improvement
Pros: The string needed very little retuning after the first hour, in fact, during a couple of days when the weather has veered between torrential rain and hot sun it has only needed as much attention as the older strings. To my inexperienced ear there was an Immediate improvement to the cello's overall sound - I have tried five other D strings on my cello and this is the best tone so far. Liked it so much I have bought the A as well.
Cons: Nothing- great value and a lovely tone.

Pros: I switched to the stark version after finding the medium one a bit weak compared with the medium A. The stark D string has a beautiful, clear, warm tone with none of the harsh nasal quality you might expect from a high tension string. The response is instant and smooth, even on the open string, and it can produce a wide dynamic range without sacrificing sound quality.
Cons: The transition to the passione A string needs care because the sound is darker than the A despite being a higher tension gauge. I found the Helicore D a better match for the passione A, but I didn't like the sound or response as much.
