Violino are professional quality synthetic cored strings which combine the qualities of Evah Pirazzi and Obligato but with a lower tension for a warm, easy sound. A great value modern string. Highly recommended for all types of instrument. Available in full size only.

Pros: Lovely strings with a sweet tone that worked well on my 1850 violin. The G string was good at taming my 1776 violin for a while and gave it a richer sound whilst removing some of the brashness. The G and D lasted a long time and didn't lose quality, and the E was a good match for more than one set of strings. Overall the blend was good in ensembles.
Cons: The A string started to unravel after about 2 months, some time before the other strings. They lacked some projection so were not so appropriate for solo work (though good for chamber music and orchestra).

Pros: My French violin was too bright and these strings were recommended to me to give it a much warmer sound. This was good advice and now the strings have settled down my instrument is a real pleasure to play.
Cons: None

Pros: Mellow and rounded sound. Very good respond as it is feels gut-like, due to low tension. Also quite clear, natural sound and well balanced across all four strings, including E string, which I didn't find in other synthetic string sets. For someone who prefers gut strings, but has to occasionally use synthetic ones, this is ideal. Very satisfied with the price too.
Cons: No cons for me.

Pros: The strings suit the violin I wanted them for. It basically has a poorly set neck, so the bridge is high causing high string tension. The Violono strings are 10% lower tension than Obligato and this means that the violin speaks more easily. Anyway, whether or not my theory is correct, they sound good and play easily on this Caussin violin and are also good value. It remains to be seen how long they last, I typically get 6 months out of Dominants and 9 months out of Obligatos/Eva Pirazzi. Although advertised as the 'warmest' i.e. least bright of the Pirastro synthetics, they are definitely not dull or flat sounding, I like the sound both for classical and folk playing.
Cons: Nothing not to like, unless they fail to last.

Pros: The strings are of lower tension and suited my violin very well, producing a warmer tone. They felt more like gut strings to play on which was surprising but very welcome.
Cons: It's a shame that the loop E string isn't a choice when buying a set. Most professionals would select a loop and not having this choice may put them off even though the loop e string can be bought separately

Pros: Have been more attentive to intonation recently. These strings stretch a good deal less than gut cored strings and allow use of tailpiece adjusters. Initially they felt marginally lighter under the fingers than Olive strings and have a slightly softer effect which suits my instrument which is relatively young and bright sounding. The difference in sound is not significant, except the E, unless playing solo and even then I prefer their practicality.
Cons: The E string sounds particularly 'thin' and I replaced it with a gold covered string which, for me, is a much better match.
Other: Limiting the characters to 50 makes it near impossible to give a useful review.

Pros: These produce a lovely soft warm tone. They're not as loud as the Obligato or Eva Pirazzi that I have on other violins but as I only play at home, I don't need high volume and it was this reason I chose Violino. I put these on a new quality student violin and the tone of the instrument changed dramatically. It now has a very warm mellow tone and its become a real favourite. I would recommend these to beginners as they have a lower tension and work very well with lighter bow strokes and improve the tonal quality.
Cons: Nothing not to like.

Pros: Bought these as I wanted to try out strings that were more 'gut like'. I love how they sound, dark and rich, and how much I can dig in while playing then.
Cons: Too quiet to be of any use gigging in noisy bars
Other: I have them on my house fiddle, I think they'd make a good string for anyone wanting to explore a range of sounds such as harmonics, difference tones, sympathetic resonances, click technique, alternate tunings etc without being too loud
