For me, the best rosin you can buy for violin at t
7 out of 7 found the following review helpful

Pros: I love almost everything about the salchow rosin, the smell of the new rosin not used, the way that it lets you make as big a sound as possible that doesn't consume too much energy, the richness in tone that it allows you to make, and finally how long it can last and stay fresh for.

Cons: How much i had to clean my violin because i used it so much!

Fantastic must-have!

Pros: I love this rosin! I first discovered it when some was brought back from NYC for me and my bow spits if I put anything else on it now. It seems very smooth, not dusty and has some magic ingredient in it that makes it different from any of the others I have used.

Cons: There is nothing I don't like about this rosin. It just works.

Stringzones' service and their Salchow Rosin
10 out of 14 found the following review helpful

Pros: It goes on smoothly and does not create sharp broken crystals. I was pleasantly pleased to see that my teacher and professional player is also using this brand.

Cons: I guess I might have liked a posher case - BUT - the soft cloth attached to the rosin which is then inside a little brown cloth 'purse' is quite compressible taking up minimal space. I'll stick!!

Other: Stringzone is my first port of call! Stringzones' 'service' is superb with their ready helpfulness and enthusiasm in assisting you to make the best choice. They really want you to have a good purchasing experience and to enjoy your purchase(s).

Pros: Not too dusty, good adherence and clear sound. Rosin goes on evenly and easily.

Cons: The elastic band style wrapper! I personally prefer cloth bags for rosin!

The best rosin I have tried!
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: Salchow rosin was recommended to me by a well-known bow maker, and it made for an almost instant improvement in my sound and ease of bowing. The connection between bow and string feels silky smooth in legato, and offers plenty of bite without any crunch on short bow strokes. It has the added bonus of producing relatively little dust, making it easier to keep the violin and strings clean than with other rosins I have tried. Despite the price tag it is excellent value too, as apart from being a great rosin to use it lasts for years, seeming to hardly ever wear down or deteriorate - unless I'm just not practising enough ;) Excellent service from The String Zone as always :)

Cons: The elastic string used to tie up the cloth it comes in is quite fiddly, and wears down over time. A very tiny niggle as the rosin itself is first-rate - try it!

Pros: The dark rosin is sticky and very good for cello.

Cons: Comes off very quickly, I have to put it on regularly, at least once a day or even more.
