The Sattler Strad-Pad is a soft latex pad suitable for most sizes of chinrest. The pad is fixed to the chin rest with a velcro pad (or, where described on our listing, by an elasticated strap) for easy transfer between instruments and removal for washing. The large pad extends over the metal fixing brackets to alleviate skin irritation from nickel fittings.
Full fixing instructions enclosed. Play with poise, assurance and comfort!
PLEASE NOTE: NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH A LATEX ALLERGY

Pros: Love the Strad pad, the larger version and the tan colour work really well. Soft and comfortable, good value, mine lasted 3 years before I had to replace it.
Cons: The black Srad Pad is made of harder material, not so comfortable.

Pros: Great product if you want total comfort when playing. If you suffer from allergies to the wood and metal on chin rests, this is perfect. The original colour seems to be made of more maliable material than the new black version. I first bought the black colour but found it did not mould well enough to my chin rest shape. I would only buy the original colour now.
Cons: Unless your chin rest is already the same shape as the Strad pad, I would not recommend the black version. No complaints as to the original colour.

Pros: The Strad Pad is the ONLY product I have found which prevents neck sores.
Cons: My last one suffered in hot weather - the velcro detached itself from the pad and I couldn't find a suitable glue in order to reattach it.

Pros: It's soft and comfortable on the chin rest.
Cons: Contrary to the appearance on promotional photos, including all those on USA online sites, the pad does not fix to the chinrest except on its surface. Therefore, the rest of it (the lower half) hangs loose and has to be adjusted and pulled down and tucked under the violin every time you raise your head from the violin, even for a second. And of course, it doesn't stay in that position.I found it to be useless and a waste of money..
Other: For me it was useless and a waste of mone. It is also expensive.

Pros: For someone with sensitive skin this product is perfect for avoiding skin rash and infections whilst playing the viola for hours every day!
Cons: It adds extra height to the chin rest which can be uncomfortable.

Pros: It is very comfortable, particularly in long rehearsals.
Cons: It is only attachable with Velcro, which cannot be easily removed should you wish to play without it.
Other: It has helped to prevent soreness on the neck after long periods of playing. I am definitely happier with it now than I was before I had it.

Pros: There was nothing I liked about it.
Cons: Didn't like the feel of the rubber material. More importantly, I bought it to cover the metal legs of my chin rest, which I'm allergic to, but it didn't. Fed up of using cloths etc. Think it's time for a new chin rest!

Pros: Now I'm practising my violin more the Strad-Pad has stopped my violin rubbing on my chin and made playing much more pleasant.
Cons: Nothing I didn't like about it.
