Spiral steel core with Chrome winding.

Hi-tech, top grade, spiral steel core strings.
Spirocore strings have a flexible spiral steel core. This core has greater elasticity than that of conventional strings, which means less inertia and a higher propensity to musical vibration.

total non squeaker
3 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: This is the only E string I have found that does not squeak at all. I have used it for 20 years, as every flirtation with another has been resulted in the all too familiar 'Mouse with a sore throat'

Cons: none

A good-sounding, comfortable, reliable string.

Pros: Clear sound, speaks easily and I have never known it to squeak. Tunes immediately from new. Blends well with other brands. Feels good under the fingers and lasts well (dependent on how sweaty a particular player's fingers are).

Cons: None

Other: I have tried many other professional brands but I still come back to this one. I find that it is much less shrill than solid steel E strings, especially the cheaper brands, and it seems to suit different instruments whatever their tonal quality (e.g. inherently bright or gentle).

Grade 8+

Excellent quality and service

Pros: I can't comment on the string itself as I buy them for my son who seems to be happy with this one. The shopping experience with The string zone though has been absolutely brilliant.

Cons: There is no cons

Normally excellent E-string, but was faulty

Pros: Normally it is the only E string which does not squeak or sounds sharp.

Cons: The string was unusable as it was faulty.

Other: The string I received from Stringzone was broken - it was faulty in the area where the string goes over the bridge. It was therefore unusable.
