Much more beneficial than can be imagined
9 out of 10 found the following review helpful

Pros: Nicely made foam finger-support (or buffer) which can be positioned anywhere on the bow which suits you (it doesn't have to overlay the leather wrapping). I use it to give my first finger a 'ridge' against which to sit (instead of my finger sliding on the silver wrapping - especially when sweaty and slippy). It weighs next to nothing and the cost is immaterial when placed against the peace-of-mind which comes from using it. There are two in the packet and I am sure I will get at least a year's use out of them.

Cons: No cons at all.

Other: I am so grateful that someone (who?) thought this would be a worthwhile help for string players; he/she was right.

It's good.....try it.....carefully

Pros: I am pleased that thumb cushions are once again available. While a bit thicker perhaps, they are equivalent to the original thumbcushions from Dalco Products, no longer available.

Cons: 1. The trademark....'SureGrip' belongs to Dalco Products, first used in 1994, and is used by VioTech without permission. 2. A small amount of wax lubricant should be included with each tube of cushions. 3. Salchow Bow Lubricant is best, but a wax (such as machinist wax) works well. DO NOT USE SILICON LUBRICANTS on a wood bow of any value. If there would be a crack in the handle area, silicon is more difficult to clean out to make a solid glue joint.

Other: It's not a bow grrip....it's a thumb cushion. Rating is not a 5 because no lubricant is included, and because dangerous lubricants are recommended.

Cello bow grip
6 out of 8 found the following review helpful

Pros: Fitted easily on both bows. Comfortable in use and good for extended playing.

Cons: -

Other: I fitted the grip mainly to protect the leather bow grip from my thumbnail, which causes wear however short I keep the nail.

Great product.

Pros: Easy to fit with a little washing up liquid. My bow hold feels more comfy and thoroughly recommend this product. Great for those students who find it difficult to maintain a curved thumb.

Cons: Don't know how hard wearing this product is going to be. Time will tell.

Very helpful
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: I like this product very much. It does help with my grip, especially on cheaper bows which don't have a thick leather pad. It is also quite long lasting.

Cons: Slightly bulky if you have 2 bows next to each other in case.

Other: Easy to slide on if you put a little bit of vaseline on the edge.

Surprisingly useful! Increased bow control.
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: When I bought it I thought it was going to be for more comfort to the fingers, which it is in a way... However, what it actually happens is that the bigger diameter allows my index finger to wrap around the grip (similiar to the russian bowgrip, but keeping the rest of the fingers and wrist in normal grip)... This new hold is giving me a very significant increase in control on the bow... So from an almost joke, I am putting it in all my bows...

Cons: Not the easiest thing to put!! Here are some tricks: First, make sure that the stick is clean. Any little dirt stops the suregrip from sliding. Lubricate slightly. Some use violin peg paste, but it didnt' work for me... Just apply a little saliva in the stick. Then it will slide very easily...

Very useful for string players of every type.

Pros: I've used these little grips on every bow I've owned over the last 25 years. They are a first rate product which I have found to be very helpful.

Cons: There is nothing to dislike once you have mastered the knack of fitting them to the bow.
