Pros: In fact bought for a violinist friend, but the consensus was that this mute makes a very lovely sound, without the nasal quality of some mutes. It lessens the sound very effectively for such a small thing, and is also very nice looking - mind you, you'd expect that at this price!
Cons: It is very small, and risks getting lost when not in use, or accidentally disappearing down an f hole! The price is also pretty eye-watering for such a tiny object, but still less than the price of a set of strings or a rehair... (would have given it 5 stars if it were cheaper).
Other: You have to be quite deft with your fingers to put it on, so maybe not as practical as a 'sliding' mute for those quick passages where it needs to be taken on and off repeatedly. But for sound quality, it beats most others. Haven't tried the practice mute version but this is already very effective so maybe one doesn't need both.
