Description

Traditional pattern Wolf note eliminator. Usually fitted to G string. Chrome plated steel.

It's useful to work with a luthier when installing this eliminator. If fitting yourself, please loosen the screw & adjust the rubber inside so that the slit is facing outwards, lined up with the slit in the metal. You'll then be able to gently push it onto your string before tightening the screw again. Please also make sure that the screw is aligned correctly so that it doesn't hit & damage the string when you're adjusting.

The original and often most effective wolf note eliminator. Best for F# on the G string.

Cello wolf note eliminator
4 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: Very neat and easy to fit. Not too heavy.

Cons: .

Other: Usual F-F# wolf tamed with eliminator on G string - but still a slight issue with the octave (~4th posn A string). Refitted eliminator on C string which gave the best solution.

Good idea -if it works - fiddly to put on
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: Great idea for any dodgy notes if it works

Cons: Does it work? - and it gets in the way of mute. Very fiddly to put on.

Other: Someone should make a viola/violin brass eliminator like the cello ones .. would be neater and look better

This one works well!
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: It worked

Cons: Fiddly little screw and it takes time to fit it.

Other: I hate having to use a Wolf eliminator, they are so fiddly and it takes ages to tame the Wolf! However, this is a great little device - at first it was a nightmare trying to get the position correct and in the end I cut the rubber bit inside the metal tube in half so that it contacts less of the string and it did the trick. The Wolf is suppressed with no loss of tone.

Simple to attach but not totally effective.

Pros: A definite improvement - the F# on the D string was the main wolfe note problem, and by putting the eliminator on this string, the wolfe note is almost gone.

Cons: The D and E on the D string now have a bit of a wolfe note that wasn't there before. Unable to find a position that totally eliminates all wolfe notes.

I wish I had known about it years ago

Pros: I had difficulty knowing how to fit it on, but phoned your company and a very helpful man told me how to do it. I am pleased with it but still adjusting for best sound.

Cons: None

Saved my B Natural

Pros: Almost completely eliminated my unbearably wolfy B natural on the A string (and same pitch on D and G) to the point that I can draw a nice tone out of the previously unbearable note!

Cons: It took some trial and error to figure out the best string to place it on (A worked best for me) and it didn’t eliminate the wolf note completely, but it was very bad to begin with and it’s made a huge difference. It’s not as clunky as I expected, but having it on the A string leaves less room for a mute.
