Pros: This is an excellent high quality string at a good price. It suits my fiddle which is an old (approx 100 years)locally made fiddle with a light, sweet tone. It also stays in tune very well.
Cons: A nice tone is difficult to achieve when you get to forth finger, or third position.

Great strings that settle quickly with a good tone
Pros: I changed to Zyex from Pirastro Aricore about 10 years ago and have never regretted the change. Zyex strings settle down very quickly, last well, and give a lovely tone that suits my fiddle and my playing very well.
Cons: Nothing I can think of

Pros: On my violin (a Collin Mezin) this string gives me lots of resonance and clarity. I play in several classical orchestras, sometimes with professionals and I am comfortable with the depth of tone I can get from this string. In fiddle music, it speaks easily, helping with fast playing in reels and jigs. In the higher register it's got a round tone.
Cons: I found that the E lost its clarity more quickly than the other strings when I was doing a lot of gigs. It seemed to lose the roundness of tone before the other strings did.

Pros: Excellent sound. Easy to fit.
Cons: No cons.
Other: This is the first replacement string I have ever had to purchase. Having had no idea there were so many different strings on the market, I followed the recommendation of a more experienced player who spoke very highly of Stringzone and Zyex.
